As of 1 November, the Centre Director at AU Herning Michael Evan Goodsite has appointed a total of 3 professors and 6 part-time professors, 2 part-time associate professors and 5 assistant professors from institutions in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, England, the USA and Canada. In addition, Andrew Schotter, who has been elected ”The Wall Street Journal Distinguished Professor of the Year” twice, has accepted a visiting assistant professorship. Michael Evan Goodsite is very proud and pleased with the appointment.

The appointment of the new researchers forms part of AU Herning's efforts to ensure strong and locally based research and education, which has a global scope, increases co-operation with international institutions and can be of use to a great deal of people:

- AU Herning is part of a well-known and strong university (Aarhus University, ed.), and we have also created a very unique entrepreneurial spirit and established close contact with the business community over many years. We are now fully exploiting these strengths by appointing some talented researchers who are able to work and generate results together with the business community here. It is beneficial to all parties, says Michael Goodsite.

An area of great potential
Anders Frederiksen and Allan Gross are two of the newly appointed professors at AU Herning. To them, the co-operation with the local community is one of the main reasons as to why they have come to Herning.

- You can sense from day one that AU Herning receives a great deal of attention and support. I spoke to a local journalist who, by means of his article, wanted to help me find relevant local companies to co-operate with. The close contact with companies makes it possible to acquire a lot of new data for research purposes, so that is quite interesting, says Anders Frederiksen, Professor MSO in Econometrics and Business Economics, who is also affiliated with the Interdisciplinary Centre for Organizational Architecture (ICOA) at Aarhus University.

- There is definitely closeness in Herning. You work very closely with companies and users, and they are also used to working with AU Herning, which makes the process much faster and better, says Professor in Engineering and Mathematical Modelling, Allan Gross.
