Marianne Helstrup - new lecturer at BDE

BDE engineer returns to Herning to teach and educate even more engineers.

Why did you choose to work at the Department of Business Development and Technology?
I am passionate about communication and teaching, so when I saw the job advertisement at BDE, where I was a student myself, I had to make a move.

What is your area of expertise and what will you be doing here?
I will be teaching the future engineers in Business Development (BDE), and I’m looking forward to it.

I believe this is exactly the high academic level I’m passionate about and wish to teach at.

What is your educational background?
As mentioned, I am a BDE graduate from when the programme was called Manufacturing Engineering. I have used my degree as a project manager at EG and as Quality Manager at VELUX. Here, I have built up a work experience which I am excited to share with the students. Some years ago, I was employed as a teacher and supervisor at Herningsholm Erhvervsskole. I believe that I can use elements of this teaching experience in my future job here at BDE.

What have you done before?
For the last two years, I have taught at UCN, University College North, on the degree programme Export and Technology.

I taught the technical subjects and really liked the job, but I’m very excited to be teaching the new engineers instead.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, your family and your leisure activities.
I live in Aarhus and love to paint in my spare time. All together, I am very interested in art and frequently visit museums as well as galleries.
