BTECH research seminar

The talk will be a presentation from an academic perspective, but still with more practical and company-oriented insights, of the core of the work I have performed in collaboration with Arla. The work is fundamentally motivated by an observation that has been made in the literature that companies, and in particular production companies, struggle with successfully adopting machine learning or AI to improve decision-making in their production processes. Our core thesis is that to tackle this challenge a holistic approach must be taken, where one must both develop machine learning models that are actionable in a production context and understand that exploiting such models is a digital transformation in an organization. I will discuss the research challenges, opportunities, and our results of the research, which seeks to connect two methodologically very different research areas into a greater whole.

At the end of the talk, I will also give special attention to the multiple future research topics my work so far has led to, and I am looking forward to hearing your ideas and comments. Maybe I can even spark some interest in future collaborations.
