Leisure time and creativity – evidence from a natural experiment at the shopfloor

This project investigates the effect of leisure time on creativity in a large firm. We exploit a dataset on the individual level in which workers are treated by an exogenous shock, which results in more leisure time in form of some days off. We find that after the leisure break, individuals produce significantly more ideas than  the untreated control group.

We discuss different alternative explanations for this finding.

Closing date for registration: Monday, 4 November (register by accepting the meeting request sent by Janni Salomonsen).
