PRO*TORSDAG: There's birth, there's death and in between there's maintenance

The facilitators of this PRO*TORSDAG are Anna Sophia Sørensen and Petra Kerepecka. They will discuss and conduct a workshop based on their Technology Specialization (TS) project by the title, ‘There’s birth, there’s death and in between there’s maintenance.’

The session will host a range of issues and matters concerning reuse, repair, maintenance of household appliances to digitalization of repair and new decentralized business and service models. And all this will happen with a focused discussion on the design and deployment of a digital prototype for maintaining refurbished washing machines! The prototype designed and built by Anna Sophia and Petra as part of their TS project was put into people’s real homes for research based testing. A project that aptly exemplifies our approach at PROTO* lab!

In the session Petra and Anna Sophia will also introduce you to useful tips and tricks for prototyping with different mediums, from sketches, screens, electronic hardware and software to 3D printing. And for the academically inclined the session will touch upon on how they undertook field research in the wild, using prototypes!

And during the session there will also be the kantina chef’s tidbit kage with hot coffee.
