Purchasing and replacing computers
Professors, associate professors, assistant professors and permanent technical and administrative staff can choose from all computers available in AU’s IT webshop (however, the most expensive MacBook models and iPads are not funded by the department).
Postdocs, PhD students and research assistants are provided with a standard laptop.
Computers are generally expected to be used for at least four years before being replaced.

Software licenses
Software licences from AU’s IT webshop can be ordered without prior approval using project 90200 and case number 82401.
You can also find an overview of the licences funded by BSS IT on AU’s software page. AU’s Centre for Educational Development also provides a range of educational technology licences for teaching.
The licences are intended exclusively for work-related activities and may not be used for private purposes or by employees’ family members.
