Title: Project stakeholder engagement on social media versus in-person – how does it differ?

Presenter: Pernille Eskerod, Webster Vienna Private University, Austria.

Abstract: The rise of social media offers projects new means to engage with stakeholders, e.g. local communities. Based on a case study in the context of Webster Sydney International Airport the research highlights why it is difficult though to apply conventional project stakeholder analysis approaches within social media environments. A framework to enrich the understanding of project stakeholder engagement on social media is presented. The seminar builds on an article published in International Journal of Project Management.
