Read more about his work areas, professional background, hobbies and more.
Why did you choose to work at BTECH?
I chose to work at BTECH because of the strong alignment between my PhD project and the department’s interdisciplinary focus with technology at the centre. I believe that BTECH offers a supporting environment that fosters the professional development of its PhD students, making it an ideal fit for me.
What is your area of work?
I am part of the AIROD section, and my research focuses on blockchain economics. I will do research on decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) using both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess their quality. I am particularly interested in how DAOs can signal their quality type to outsiders to secure funding and attract talent. I am happy to discuss potential topics, so please free to contact me.
What is your background?
I come from Bratislava, Slovakia, where I spent the first 19 years of my life. I attended a Spanish bilingual high school and played junior ice hockey. After I graduated, I moved to Odense to study at SDU and play for their hockey team. During my bachelor’s studies in business administration and economics, I developed a passion for decentralized finance and decided to subsequently enrol in SDU’s master’s programme in economics and finance. However, after completing my first year, I moved to Copenhagen to play hockey for Gentofte Stars and took courses at CBS.
Would you like to tell a bit about yourself, your family and your hobbies?
After starting my PhD journey at BTECH, I decided to retire from ice hockey to fully focus on my research and academic career. Outside of my research, I value the time I spend with my girlfriend. Both new to Herning, we are enjoying exploring the area together. I also love learning about various topics beyond my field, and I have recently taken up tennis to stay active.
