Say hi to Suvethini Kandasamy 👋

Suvethini is a newly employed research assistant. Learn more about her work areas, professional background, hobbies and more here.

Why did you choose to work at BTECH?
I have been one of the fortunate employees at BTECH who has also had the experience of being a student at the department. As a student, I was extremely happy with my decision to pursue my master’s degree (ITKO) at BTECH, not only because of the academic profile of the programme but also due to the study environment and the great relationships I had with my fellow students. So, when the opportunity to be hired as a research assistant came up, I seized it. Both because I found the tasks incredibly exciting, but also because it was fun to experience working at the same department where I had enjoyed studying.

What is your area of work?
Hmm, that’s a really good question. As a 'nearly' recent graduate, it’s difficult for me to define my exact area of work. However, I developed a great interest in digital business development during my studies. In my current position, I am working on a research project that explores corporate digital responsibility from a strategic communication perspective. That’s why I enjoy my role as a research assistant, as it allows me to broaden my professional horizon and define my area of work.

What is your background?
I graduated as an ITKO from BTECH this summer. Before that, I earned a professional bachelor’s degree in International Sales and Marketing.

Would you like to tell a bit about yourself, your family and your hobbies?
I live in Skals, a small town north of Viborg about an hour's drive from Herning. Here, I also volunteer as a board member at the local fitness centre in my spare time. Currently, I am 'lucky' enough to have moved back home with my parents while I decide where to settle down. A member of my family might be a familiar face to many of you – my older sister Thuva. I’ve found that working at the same workplace as my sister is not bad at all – though I’m not entirely sure she’d say the same! 😉
