Welcome (back) to Pernille Agerskov Clausen
Pernille has returned to BTECH - now as an assistant professor. You can read more about her work areas, professional background, hobbies and more here.
What is your background?
I am a BDE and TBBD graduate from BTECH. During my master’s, I developed an interest in industrial digitalisation while studying digital transformation in line with Industry 4.0, which led me to pursue a PhD in this area. As a PhD student from 2019 to 2022, I focused on exploring visualisation tools for smart manufacturing (at shop floor level) in collaboration with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. This partnership paved the way for an industrial postdoctoral position at Aalborg University from 2022 to 2024, where I continued researching digital manufacturing transitions at both operational and tactical levels within SGRE.
Why did you choose to work at BTECH?
Returning to BTECH after completing my industrial postdoc at Aalborg University/ SGRE felt like a natural choice, as this is where my ‘researcher DNA’ originates. When I learned that an assistant professor position in my field was available, I seized the opportunity and applied. I’m very thrilled to be back at BTECH!
What is your area of work?
I teach in the TBBD and ITKO programmes, where I am responsible for the courses Advanced Operations Management and ‘Systemudvikling’. Additionally, I will be dedicating much of my time to expanding the operations management research efforts at BTECH. My research primarily focuses on digital transitions in operations management and technology management, with a particular focus on socio-technical systems.
Would you like to tell a bit about yourself, your family and your hobbies?
I live in Kjellerup (in the Silkeborg area) with my husband Andreas and our two Finnish Lapphunds Teddy and Balou. We’re excited to be expanding our family, as we’re expecting our daughter in November. In 2022, we bought a charming old ‘murermestervilla’, which we’ve spent the past two years renovating. Besides being handy around the house, I enjoy playing football and spending time in the kitchen, where I love to bake and cook! Of course, I also dedicate a lot of time to our dogs, so much of my free time is spent outdoors.
