Courses

As a rule, the PhD student must aim to earn 15 ECTS credit points for courses offered by the Aarhus BSS Graduate School. The remaining 15 ECTS credits may be earned by taking courses offered by other institutions.

BTECH incur the expenses for participation in such courses not offered by Aarhus University, if approved by the supervisor and the Graduate School beforehand.

The PhD student is able to earn ECTS credits abroad as well, typically in connection with a stay abroad. Only in exceptional cases does BTECH pay expenses for courses abroad that are not part of the stay at another foreign research institution.

The PhD plan

In collaboration with the supervisor(s), an individual course work plan is to be prepared during the PhD student's first three months of enrolment. This individual course work plan - or list of planned participation in PhD courses - form part of the student's PhD plan.

CED courses

PhD students have the opportunity to participate in pedagogic courses offered by the Centre for Educational Development, including a course on teaching techniques for PhD students.
